Horta Marina: A world-renowned harbour where transatlantic sailors have, for decades, painted murals, logos, blessings, and stories on every wall, floor, and dock. These colorful artworks form a living tapestry of ocean adventures found nowhere else in the archipelago.

Capelinhos Volcano: The most iconic volcanic site in the Azores, offering the rare chance to walk on a lunar landscape created during the 1957 eruption. The area feels untouched, raw, almost otherworldly – an unforgettable encounter with the power of the earth.

Day 1: ARRIVAL FAIAL ISLAND – HORTA (10km – 15min)

The journey starts with a transfer to your hotel either from the airport or the port of Faial Island. The hotel’s unique design incorporates volcanic stone, maritime colors, and wide panoramic windows that open toward the Atlantic. From many views, the dramatic silhouette of Pico Mountain rises across the water, an ever‑present reminder of the archipelago’s volcanic origins. The atmosphere is peaceful and refined, creating the perfect base for the days of exploration ahead.

Day 2: HORTA: FULL‑DAY IMMERSIVE FAIAL EXPERIENCE

This exclusive day reveals the many faces of Faial, weaving together culture, geology, history, and breathtaking scenery. It is a one‑of‑a‑kind journey found only on this island. The morning begins with the gentle pace of Horta, strolling through the legendary marina where every surface tells a story. Vibrant murals left by passing sailors give the harbour a sense of global community and adventure. As you continue onward, the road rises toward Monte da Guia, a volcanic cone offering sweeping views over the bay, Porto Pim beach, and the surrounding nature reserve. The silence, the sea breeze, and the layered shades of blue create a moment of calm before the island’s wilder landscapes take over. Nearby lies the Whaling Station Museum, an optional stop for those who wish to understand Faial’s deep connection with the ocean. The museum is housed in a beautifully restored building where the past of whaling and its transformation into modern marine conservation is thoughtfully presented.

By midday, the scenery shifts dramatically as the journey heads west toward Capelinhos, the site of the 1957 eruption that expanded the island. The first sight of this landscape feels almost unreal: a desert of volcanic ash, cinder, and sculpted ridges stretching toward the Atlantic. A guided visit to the Capelinhos Interpretation Centre, ingeniously built beneath the surface, brings to life the eruption’s timeline and the human stories tied to it. Walking outside, surrounded by silence and mineral tones, you feel the magnitude of standing on land younger than many of the island’s residents.

Lunch is served in a local restaurant where the flavors of the sea take center stage - fresh fish, tender seafood, and traditional dishes that showcase the island’s culinary heritage.

In the afternoon, the road climbs toward the towering Caldeira, Faial’s central volcanic crater. The air cools, the vegetation thickens, and soon you arrive at an immense natural amphitheater carpeted with green. If conditions allow a short walk near the rim reveals sweeping views across the interior and coastline. The return journey winds through the island’s lush heart: hydrangea-lined paths, rolling pastures, hidden cones, and quiet rural landscapes that reveal Faial’s gentler, more intimate side.

On the last day, a private transfer will be provided to accompany you to the airport or port.

Said section refers to the obligation to inform the client of the possibility of contracting insurance, not to the obligation to include insurance on the trip, that is, the client has the power (option) to contract insurance with the agency or not. . The agency has the obligation to inform that it is recommended that the client take out insurance that includes, at least, issues such as repatriation,... which is basically inclusion insurance.

Once the agency informs the client about the recommendation to contract insurance for the trip, it is the client who can contract insurance with the agency, or contract it directly with whoever they want.
