Description

THE MAYA TRADITION OF THE DAY OF THE DEAD

The Day of the Dead is one of Mexico's most beloved holidays, with days filled with vibrant colors, smells, flavors, and ancient traditions that extend from October 31 to November 2.

The meaning of these days is very profound and encompasses culture, tradition, community, and celebration. The most interesting thing is that on these dates we do not celebrate absence, but rather the living presence that has transcended eternity by joining in the celebration of the souls that no longer inhabit this earth.

DAY 1 WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29 / ARRIVAL IN CANCUN

Upon arrival, Cancun Travel Group staff will welcome you and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel Cancun, All-Inclusive Plan.

DAY 2 THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30 / XCARET TOUR AND LIFE AND DEATH FESTIVAL

Discover the essence of Mexico at Xcaret, an amazing place where nature, tradition, and celebration come together. Explore underground rivers, an aviary, a butterfly garden, a coral reef aquarium, and much more. In addition, during this time of year, Xcaret Park holds its traditional LIFE AND DEATH FESTIVAL, where you can take part in unique artistic performances and reenactments in which we welcome spirits returning from the afterlife for a few days to visit their loved ones. Overnight stay at Hotel Cancún, all-inclusive plan.

DAY 3 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31 / FREE DAY IN VALLADOLID, YUCATÁN

Free morning to enjoy the hotel's beautiful beach and in the afternoon transfer to Valladolid, the second most important city in Yucatán and the oldest in the state. This magical town invites you to explore its colonial buildings and houses, its parks and neighborhoods, and its churches, as here you can still breathe in a provincial air with a notable colonial accent. Overnight stay at Hotel Valladolid, breakfast included.

DAY 4 SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1 / VISIT TO THE MAYA COMMUNITY AND CHICHÉN ITZÁ NIGHT SHOW

Discover a community that preserves its identity and culture, showing us that at this time of year, the aromas we long for also arrive, such as the cempasúchil flower that fills every corner with color. Here on the Yucatan Peninsula, something special is prepared: the “pib,” a tamale that is wrapped in banana leaves and then, as tradition dictates, buried underground for several hours to cook.

In this community, we will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn how pibes are prepared.
  • Participate in the setting up of altars.
  • Enjoy the traditional dish.
  • Departure to see the altars in some houses.

At the end of the tour, we will transfer to the hotel to check in and recharge our batteries. Later, you will enjoy the CHICHÉN ITZÁ BY NIGHT show, where shadows fill the air and you will enjoy a magical and unparalleled experience with a sky full of stars and the great pyramid of Kukulcán, giving us an unforgettable spectacle. Overnight stay at Hotel Valladolid, breakfast included.

DAY 5 SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2 / TOUR TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF CHICHÉN ITZÁ

Early departure from the hotel to take you on a tour of the archaeological site of Chichen Itzá, recognized as one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. Here you will witness the astronomical and mathematical precision of its constructions, experience the amazing acoustic effects of the Pyramid of Kukulcán, and visit the most important sites, such as the Sacred Cenote, the Ball Court, and the Temple of a Thousand Columns. Lunch. We will continue with a visit to the colonial city of Valladolid, founded in 1543. During the tour, you will be able to distinguish the cultural syncretism between Mayan and Spanish traditions, enjoy its charming colonial style in the Central Plaza, the church of San Servasio, the Sisal neighborhood, and the old Franciscan convent of San Bernardino de Siena. At the end, we will continue our return trip. Overnight stay at Hotel Cancún, All-Inclusive Plan.

DAY 6 MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3 / FREE DAY IN CANCUN

Free morning to enjoy the hotel's beautiful beach and, in the afternoon, if you choose, it will be time to have fun and enjoy a magical night. As an additional recommendation not included, we suggest a show that combines the performing arts in an intimate theater designed to envelop the audience through the senses. This show tells the story of an alchemist and his granddaughter's journey to discover the secrets of life. Overnight stay at Hotel Cancún, All-Inclusive Plan.

DAY 7 THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4 / DEPARTURE

At the time agreed upon with our company, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure.

INCLUSION INSURANCE IN COMBINED TRAVEL RESERVATIONS

With regard to our inclusion insurance, said insurance exclusively includes those people who have their residence and origin of the trip in Spain or Portugal.

CHAPTER I (Obligations of information and content of the combined travel contract), Article 153 (Pre-contractual information), point 1, section H:

"1. Before the traveler is bound by any package travel contract or corresponding offer, the organizer, and also the retailer, when the package is sold through the latter, will provide the traveler with the form with the standard information regarding to the package trip that appears in annex II, A or B, as well as the following information that is applicable to the package trip:

"h) Information on the subscription of an optional insurance that covers the expenses originated in the event that the traveler decides to terminate the contract or the expenses of assistance, including those of repatriation, in case of accident, illness or death."

Said section refers to the obligation to inform the client of the possibility of contracting insurance, not to the obligation to include insurance on the trip, that is, the client has the power (option) to contract insurance with the agency or not. . The agency has the obligation to inform that it is recommended that the client take out insurance that includes, at least, issues such as repatriation,... which is basically inclusion insurance.

Once the agency informs the client about the recommendation to contract insurance for the trip, it is the client who can contract insurance with the agency, or contract it directly with whoever they want.
